Our young carer’s team have been busy delivering hampers kindly donated by the Department of Work and Pensions. Around 90 hampers were donated for our young carer’s and their families to enjoy over the festive period. Here, young carer Emily shows her thanks to us on Facebook . Emily – you’re AWESOME!
The Budz had lots of fun making Pudsey themed treats. Children in Need is a truly awesome charity which helps us to support young carers through their grants. Thanks to them and to everyone who donated on the night making it possible!

For the Rotary Club of Harrogate Brigantes swung into action and raised £2,250 at the event for our Harrogate youth club BUDZ.

European Featherweight boxing champion Josh ‘The Warrior’ Warrington popped into our last boxing session to meet our Young Carers. Josh used to be a young carer himself, caring for his brother and sister. He spoke to us about how the skills he learnt caring has helped him become a champion boxer. Thanks Josh, you’re awesome!
A big thank you to the Haworth and Worth Valley Rotary Club for choosing Craven Young Carers as the President’s Charity of the year.
Our Young carers & young adult carers in Harrogate got to take to the punch bags to relieve some stress with local ex professional Rob Smith. Rob runs H Hour Boxing gym in Harrogate and is offering boxing sessions for our young carers over the summer holidays. The next session will be Wednesday 13th August, for more info ring 500555 and ask for the young carer team. Thanks to everyone who came to the first session, you’re awesome!
Harrogate and Craven Young Carers had a great time and learned how to make bread. A big thank you to Bettys for all their support.
Our young adult carers put together this awesome video promoting our Young Adult Carer project. It was filmed at our youth club Utime @ The Pit, and only took a few days for it to be completed. The video was part of a bid we are making to the Carnegie Trust. Thanks to everyone who got involved, you’re awesome!

Craven young carers had a great time at youth group a few weeks ago. They played the usual party games of Pass the Parcel, Who am I, and eating chocolate with a knife and fork, and of course, they decorated cupcakes.
What’s the celebration you say?? Well it’s the Carers’ Resource 20th Anniversary!! So happy Birthday TCR, let the celebrations continue.
We had an Italian themed Budz week recently to celebrate one of our volunteers, Mikey. Mikey is visiting England for a short time and will soon be heading back to his homeland of Italy. To thank him for all his efforts we cooked delicious pasta with garlic, basil, olive oil & tomatoes – the colours of the Italian flag. We also decorated the famous ‘boot’ of Italy in VERY stylish, crafty ways, and learnt lots about the country.
Hettie Flynn our Young Adult Carer worker and her brother Joe gave up their time on Sunday the 10th May to run The Leeds half marathon. They ran an impressive 13.1 miles to raise money for our Young Carers in Harrogate and Craven! They raised a total of £280.00 and donations are still coming in! We are so proud of their efforts and that is why they are both totally AWESOME!!!
Our Young Adult Carer Sophie Wilson went on local radio station Stray FM in a bid to raise awareness of young adult carers and our project to support them aimed exclusively for 16-25 year olds. Sophie did a great job, and was bursting with pride once she heard herself played out live on air!
